Thank you to all the employers who were a part of our first job fair at the new campus in Woodbury! We appreciate the employers who continue to partner with NTI School of Technology through the many years, moving from Eden Prairie, then Eagan, and now to our beautiful Globe campus in Woodbury. Companies from all over the Twin Cities, and even as far as Bemidji, came to meet and possibly interview potential employees for designer jobs and internships.
Approximately 50 Architectural and Engineering Drafting and Design students worked their way around the room with portfolios and resumes in hand. Even the new students and students who already have jobs were encouraged to go to employers to introduce themselves and network. The experience of speaking in that type of setting is an important skill to develop.
Tim Cotroneo from MDS Staffing sent this email after the job fair:
Today’s Career Fair was time well spent. I’m always impressed how the NTI students nearing graduation are polished and think, as well as speak, like a candidate creating a good first impression. I think this is a direct reflection on the efforts you place on preparing them for their careers.
NTI has historically had job placement rates in the upper 90% – many graduating classes reaching 100% placement before graduation.
“The job market for drafters and designers continues to remain strong for our graduates and alumni. Employers prefer to contact us directly prior to posting positions publicly. This gives our graduates an even greater advantage in the industry,” says Theres Heimel, Placement Director at NTI. She has been very busy in recent weeks: coordinating the job fair, helping students with resumes, portfolios and cover letters.
