As a professional I have found lists to be incredibly helpful when accomplishing tasks. In fact, you’ll find them everywhere when stepping into my cubicle—in my Outlook calendar for the day, throughout my notes from the latest department meeting, and written on multiple Post-it notes attached to my computer monitor (my personal favorite).
Being an avid list user, I thought that I’d pass one along to everyone for this week’s article. Last Friday Forbes launched their first ever first-ever list of 75 websites for your career. In The 10 Best Websites For Your Career, you’ll find the short list of websites to utilize during your job search whether you are looking for a new opportunity, looking to advance within your current company, or interested in learning about current trends in your industry. The article also contains a link to all 75 websites that made the cut.
While I am a strong advocate for taking your job search online, the article also includes an important reminder for us all. It is recommended that you spend “no more than 10% of your time online. The rest of the time should be devoted to pursuing leads, networking, researching companies where you want to work and getting out and meeting people in person.”
