Here’s an inspiring business story for you. Students Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin at Lund University in Sweden recognized a new market need when mandatory helmet laws were being debated in that country. After performing market research showing that people don’t like the look of helmets, they designed an “invisible” bicycle helmet that people would be more willing to wear. Anna and Terese subsequently raised $10 million in venture capital to produce the helmets.
As they say on their website: “We want to encourage others to follow in our footsteps and dare to demand something better, to stand out from the crowd, and believe in themselves and their own capabilities.”
