GU-EC held its first Community Education Day offering a variety of classes of interest to Senior citizens from the area. Educational sessions were presented by faculty, staff, and community partners. Sessions included free chair massages, information on exercise and nutrition, basic pet care, personality profiles, and financial and will planning.
Off campus, faculty and staff enjoyed fellowship and fun with co-workers and brought smiles to community partners as they served at sites in the community. Staff was involved in raking and debris clean up at Beaver Creek Reserve and unpacking boxes at the new Chippewa Valley Free Clinic site.
Staff and community members agreed that a good time was had by all! Susie Draeger commented,”I made a new friend at Beaver Creek. Plus we all got to have a good work out!” Cathie Morrow also suggested that we do things like this more often. She enjoyed spending time with other teams outside of work! What could be better than education, service, and smiles!
